It comes as no surprise that Tom Moulton loves to be outside. He grew up on a horse farm located on Bridge Street in Hamilton, MA, where he and his family boarded horses. He graduated from Hamilton Wenham Regional High School in 1988 and he still meets up with his school friends. While in high school, he started to mow lawns to make some extra cash. He attended Fitchburg State and studied Construction Technology, and worked in the construction industry for a while. In winter of 1993, Tom met his first customer who employed him to work on her estate grounds. He loved helping with the many tasks needed for taking care of her property. That first customer grew into other customers who needed his help maintaining their properties.

Karen Moulton was an Accounting Major at Endicott College and worked at a Richdale Convenience store when she met Tom, who was a regular customer. She jokes, “We used to flirt in the parking lot!” She grew up in Ipswich and worked as an accountant for 5 years, eventually crafting her own consultancy. It was only a matter of time before she started to manage the books for Toms’ accounts. Today, Karen is the Chief Operating Officer of the company.

Tom and Karen make a great team. With Tom’s lifetime of experience in the field, and Karen’s professional nose for numbers, they bring their combined strengths to their clients and provide an unparalleled professional service from application to end.

The ‘TM’ in TM Landscaping doesn’t just stand for Tom Moulton. It’s also the initials of Tom’s father, his grandfather and his great grandfather, who were all named Tom. It’s also the initials of Tom and Karen’s children, Tom (“Jake”) and Tori, Tom’s sisters Tina and Toni, and their dog’s name is Turbo. Tom’s father’s had many dogs over the course of his life, Tuppy, Token, and Takota to name a few. Tom says he learned his work ethic from his dad, who always did what it took to get the job done.

By the way, over 25 years later, Tom still works for his first customer!

“27 years ago Tom appeared at my front door and asked if I needed help taking care of my property. It just so happened I did at that time. I hired him and we’ve worked well together ever since.

Tom and his team are always willing, polite and professional. Four seasons of the year they are available to help with whatever needs to be done: lawn care, plowing, barn repairs, stone walls, excavating, walkways, plating trees and shrubs.  It’s been a pleasure to work with Tom over the years.”
